At Times I Get These Feelings: Helping Children with Emotions

(7 customer reviews)

£13.49

Children can often find it difficult to identify with an emotion. It isn’t always easy for them to articulate what they are feeling.

This brilliantly written book covers twelve main emotions and is packed full of tips and activities to help children with their emotional literacy. From happy to embarrassed, to jealous or angry, it touches on each emotion offering talking points around some of the trickier feelings.

Bold images and colours to match the emotion make it bright and engaging for the child. With an interactive element, the child can write and draw their own thoughts and feelings too.

This book would be a valuable addition to any child’s library.

  1. Emma Gilman

    An amazing book.
Beautifully written and illustrated. My autistic son has barely any emotional understanding and this book is really helping him to learn about emotions.
I would highly recommend this book for all children (not just SEN) as it deals with emotions in a gloriously sensitive manner.

  2. Rebecca Broyd

A beautiful book, used during many ELSA sessions to help children to make sense of their feelings. Highly recommended for use in schools and the home

  3. Laura wright

I bough this book for my son to help him with his emotions. Sometimes he can get really angry and upset and won’t talk to us. We have found this book has helped him to express himself and communicate with us by sitting and going through the book. If you have a child who isn’t good at sharing how the feel I would recommend this book 100% as not only is it written for us but for children to understand their emotions. Thankyou For such an awesome book has helped us so much.

  4. Clare N

Beautiful book that my son and I have enjoyed reading together. It is a really good tool to start those conversations about thoughts and feelings. Thank you

  5. Helen G

A great book to help approach conversations about feelings and emotions. Highly recommended.

  6. Kelly G

A wonderfully written book which explains things in a way children can really understand (and some adults too!) This is really helping my daughter to work through some of the emotions she has encountered since her cancer diagnosis. Thank you x

  7. Primary School ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)

This is an amazing resource to work with children to help them understand their own feelings and how to manage them. Recommended for parents, schools and professionals working with children aged 4 – 11 years. Every child in the country would benefit from having a copy.
